These terms govern your use of Chief. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Our Service

Chief Jones Ltd provides AI-powered software and services, including anything we build for you ("Chief"). We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Chief for your internal business purposes during your subscription.

Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Chief. You're responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure
• All activity under your account
• Not sharing your account — one account per person
• Anything Chief does in systems you connect it to
• Getting consent to record where the law requires it
• Providing accurate account information

Acceptable Use

You're responsible for using Chief lawfully where you operate. You agree not to:

• Use Chief for illegal purposes or to violate others' rights
• Attempt to breach our security or access others' data
• Reverse engineer or copy Chief's functionality
• Resell or redistribute access to Chief
• Point Chief at systems you aren't allowed to
• Use Chief to process sensitive personal data without appropriate safeguards

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you process through Chief. You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide our service, under our data processing terms. You're responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you process.

Payment

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Prices may change with notice. Prices exclude VAT and any local taxes. You're responsible for any tax due in your own country. We use third-party payment processors and don't store card details ourselves.

Fair Use

Plans include a fair level of use. We may limit or pause an account that goes well beyond it.

Service Availability

We aim for reliable service but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or discontinue features. Emergency maintenance may occur without notice.

AI Disclaimer

Chief uses AI. Review its notes, drafts, suggestions and actions before you rely on them, and before you let Chief act on its own.

Intellectual Property

Chief and its original content remain our property. We respect others' intellectual property and expect you to do the same.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Chief is provided "as is" without warranties
• We're not liable for indirect, consequential, punitive or special damages
• Our total liability won't exceed what you paid us in the past 12 months

Indemnity

You'll defend us against claims arising from your use of Chief, your content, or your breach of these terms.

Termination

You can cancel at any time; access runs to the end of your billing period. Non-business purchases can be cancelled within 14 days of subscribing for a refund. We may terminate with notice, or suspend access immediately for breaches. Upon termination, your right to use Chief ends, but terms that should survive will continue.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go exclusively to its courts — though we'd rather sort things out with you directly first.

General

These terms represent the core agreement for using Chief. If any part of them doesn't hold, the rest still applies.
